Fees and Insurance Information
At Perfectly Queer Counseling, we are committed to providing transparent and accessible information about our services and fees. Below is an overview to help you understand the costs associated with therapy and how insurance may assist.
Session Rates
Individual Session (55 minutes): $160
Intern Therapist Session (55 minutes): $55
Please note that session fees are due at the time of service.
Payment Methods
We accept the following forms of payment for therapy services:
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) cards
Your card will be securely stored in our HIPAA-compliant client portal and charged automatically after each session, unless otherwise arranged. If you plan to use an FSA or HSA card, please ensure that your account covers mental health services.

For clients with other insurance carriers, we are considered out-of-network. However, we offer courtesy billing for out-of-network insurance to facilitate reimbursement.

Navigating insurance benefits can be complex. Here are some common questions to assist you:
Does my insurance cover therapy sessions?
If you are insured by Premera, Lifewise, FirstChoice or have a Kaiser PPO plan, your sessions may be fully or partially covered.
For other insurance providers, out-of-network benefits may apply. We are happy to verify your coverage and provide an estimate of your out-of-pocket costs.
What are out-of-network benefits, and how do they affect my costs?
Out-of-network benefits vary by plan. Typically, you may have a deductible to meet before your insurance contributes to session costs. Once met, your insurance may cover a percentage of the session fee. We can assist in determining these details specific to your plan.
What is a superbill, and do you provide them?
A superbill is a detailed receipt outlining the services provided, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. At Perfectly Queer Counseling, we handle courtesy billing, submitting claims directly to your insurance on your behalf, reducing the need for you to manage superbills.
Is a mental health diagnosis required to use insurance?
Yes, insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to process claims for therapy services. If you have concerns about this or prefer not to receive a diagnosis, please contact us to discuss alternative payment options.
Good Faith Estimate
In compliance with the No Surprises Act, we provide a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges upon scheduling or upon request. This estimate outlines the anticipated costs of services, ensuring transparency in your care.
